We’re looking forward to seeing you at one of our Dropin Classes!
Our studio address is:
Polepeople Dance Studios, 4th Floor, Templeton House, 33-34 Chiswell Street, EC1Y 4SF
.
Here is the information that we will also be emailing you before your class. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch 🙂
.
WHAT TO BRING AND WEAR
- Please bring shorts and a t-shirt. Bare legs make it easier to grip the pole! [If you really don’t want to wear shorts, leggings are fine, and you can always roll them up when need be…]
- Please make sure you bring plenty of water to keep you hydrated throughout your class.
- Please bring a cloth to wipe the pole while you use it. Paper and disinfectant will be provided to clean your pole before and after you’ve used it, but you’ll also need to quickly clean through the lesson so it keeps its grip!
- You may also like to bring a pair of socks if you have sensitive feet, as there will be some swivelling on the balls of your feet.
- NB// Please DO NOT apply moisturiser for at least 4 hours before your class, as this makes the pole slippery and harder to work on!!
.
PLEASE REMOVE ALL JEWELLERY
.
For your safety, please remove all jewellery before you start your class. This is especially important if you wear rings, as they can hurt your hand when poling and also scratch and damage the poles.
.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE…
.
Please make sure you arrive at least 5 minutes before class. Because of the extra regulations for Covid19, we may not be able to let you in if you’re late.
.
Stage 1 – Please wait Outside!
- Due to Covid19, please wait outside of Templeton House when you arrive and make sure you arrive at least 5 minutes before your class is due to start. Please wait to the right of the front door in the forecourt, away from the coffee cart. There will be signage :).
.
Stage 2 – Buzzing up to the studio!
- 5 minutes before the class starts, the person who has lived in London the longest [you need to work out who this is!] can buzz up to your studio – either studio 1 or 2.
- Please press the buzzer for LRS STUDIO 1 or LRS STUDIO 2 and your teacher will buzz you in. There will be a list outside so you know which studio you are in.
.
Stage 3 – Getting to the 4th Floor!
- The lift at Templeton House is small, so please take the stairs up to the 4th floor. Think of it as part of your warm up! If someone needs to cross you coming down the stairs, please pass them / allow them to pass on one of the landings.
- All Government guidance asks us to encourage our students to come to the studio ready for class to minimise the use of changing rooms and toilets. This is slightly trickier with pole, but if you can be as ready as possible that would be great 🙂 Maybe with your pole things underneath your normal clothes.
- There are toilets on every landing so please use one of these if you need to.
.
Stage 4 – at the 4th Floor
- Please remove your outdoor footwear before walking through the studio
- Please hand sanitise your hands when you get to the studios. Hand sanitiser will be provided. Your teacher will also welcome you with a laser thermometer pointing at your forehead to check your temperature!! Nothing personal!
.
IN THE STUDIO
.
- Your teacher will direct you to one of the poles in the studio. Next to the pole is an area for you to put your belongings. Please stay within the markings on the floor for your pole.
- When you arrive please start cleaning the pole with the cleaning products and blue paper provided in your area.
- During your lesson you can clean your pole with the cloth your brought with you.
- When your lesson ends, please clean the pole and wipe the floor around the pole with the blue paper provided. Your teacher will come round to collect the used blue paper.
- If you have used one of the mats during the class, this will need to be cleaned too.
.
AFTER YOUR CLASS
.
- When your class has finished, please leave the building as soon as you can, so we minimise the number of people passing on the stairs.
- You may want to continue chatting outside 🙂 or go for a well deserved drink!
.
